WELCOME

I am a Visiting Research and Instruction Librarian at Hope College. In my role at Hope, I focus on introducing students to the library in fun and engaging ways, empowering them to use the library as they need it whether they are doing intense research or just need to borrow a phone charger.

After a few years of exploring the PNW, I am back in the Midwest which feels like home. When I am not working you can likely find me out for a hike or playing a board game.

I enjoy being a librarian because I love to help connect people with information and empower them to be able to find resources on their own.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

To me excellent information literacy instruction...

  • Equips and empowers learners

  • Cultivates curiosity, humility, and hope

  • Involves listening to and caring for learners

  • Is intentional, scaffolded, and collaborative
